Barton Football Academy Testimonial
Hi Mark,
Still haven't had chance to introduce myself to you or your Dad, hope to this Sun in Eugene. My boys have benefitted greatly from your camp. Last week was a great camp. And even I was inspired and motivated by the "Pep Talk" to wrap camp; very good and important message!!! Same kind of talks I give to my staff and attempt to get my boys to hear.
Can you recommend any great defensive camps? I have an inside linebacker and a safety.
Thank you and keep up the good work.

Taylor and Greg:
Thank you so much for allowing us to attend your QB camp this weekend. It
was great that you offered it two days in a row because we live far away. My
boys have come to your camp since they were young and they love it. I will
be bringing Josh (age 14) and Jake (age 12) to your Yakima camp this Sunday
on 3/01/09. It starts at 1:00 and is held at the AC Davis High School Indoor
Facility correct?

Max absolutely loved the Foster camp. My oldest son Mitch spent a week at the Purdue QB camp a few years back( Brees was a guest, Kyle Orton was the feature recruit!!). Whereas the Purdue staff ran a top notch camp, my observation is that the Barton instruction that Max is getting is superior!!.
Max plans on being back to Foster Sunday Feb 8. He may make the UW camp this Saturday; he plays hoops vs Mercer Island in the afternoon, so it just depends on when the game ends..
Thanks; see you soon.

(Note to readers - Max is going to be a freshman at Skyline HS Sammamish WA.)
Gentlemen
Thank you for the reminder of your Academy. I have heard of your work and would love the opportunity to assist our kids in getting better and at the same time promoting your academy.
First of all let me give your some back ground. Ballard Junior Football (BJF), of which I am the President, has 160-180 kids. We have been in existence since 1962, I actually grew up in Ballard playing for BJF, went to Blanchet HS and went on to the Huskies on a football scholarship in the late 70's to 1981. I was able to get BJF and our league working with University of Washington a little bit this fall and am going to work at making our relationship better as we go forward. Trying to get a relationship with the Huskies would be great for our kids and I think that UW would benefit as well. Our league, Northwest Junior Football League (NJFL), has appx.1600 kids in North King county and South Snohomish county with 8 different programs. I am on our board and involved with the league as well.
With the success of your Academy and Taylor's success as a QB at UW, I would love the opportunity to see how we can we can help each other. It sounds like Taylor is conducting your camp at Dempsey Center. I think it would be a great marketing tool for you and us if we could get an email that is a direct invitation to our BJF kids and NJFL kids to your camps. You could email me these invitations and I would then distribute to the two organization. I know this sounds like a little extra work but as the families and kids that get these invitations, there will be a sense of recognition and pride for these kids and the groups they are involved with. The fact that Taylor is directly inviting them would be very cool. I also believe you it would help you get a higher sign up rate.
I am sure that you are well connected to the High Schools in the area but I do know a variety of coaches and I would love to chat with you and see how we can help each other out.
Great to get your email and I left a message on your cell. Let's chat when we get time.

Subject: Greg - A Big "Thanks"
Dear Greg,
I wanted to take a moment to give you a heartfelt "Thank-You" for all you have done for Tom. His story is still unfolding, and we are sure excited about his future. As I reflect on this, it is apparent that you have been a major part of the "foundation" to the future Tom is building.....I think Tom started going to "Air-Attack" camp shortly after his 8th grade season of football - that would have been the Winter of 2002-2003 - back when you held them at "The Hoop". It wasn't until after his Freshman Season that he approached you and wondered if he could get a little "one-on-one" with you - which you very graciously agreed to - in the gym @ Southridge High School. I can remember him coming to me so very excited about all the important pieces of advice he was learning from you. I know that you and Taylor helped him in so very many ways, both on and off the field....I can remember Taylor coming over to our house for dinner, and discussing at length the "Next-Step" program, which Tom started not long after his Sophomore season.....and his excitement when he started receiving both calls and letters during his junior year. I firmly believe that the "Next-Step" program was a tremendous benefit in creating a substantial amount of interest in Tom. As a matter of fact, Coach Jeff Thomas ( the Offensive Coordinator @ the University of Redlands ) told me that they would never have found Tom had it not been for you. I still owe you a giant thanks for making the arrangements for Tom to take the visits to both Humboldt State & Redlands.
Coach Maynard runs a first-class program at Redlands, and I think that Tom fell in love with the "idea" of Southern California. I remember when he first got to Redlands, and how excited he was during the initial practices....I remember telling you in one of our conversations how he was getting a little "homesick" ( which you had sympathetically predicted to me would occur ), I also remember him being "down", when (as a Freshman) he didn't get as many snaps as he wanted -and how you got right on the phone to him, and told him to "man-up". He later called me and told me that having you get in his face was exactly what he needed to have occur. Again, you were there for him. You know, I had greatly enjoyed the time I spent helping coach football @ Southridge High School, but above all I am always his father, and I am positive that it was (and is) a huge benefit to have had your wisdom and knowledge available for Tom. As it turned out, he had a good freshmen season at Redlands, earning a Varsity Letter, and getting some substantial play time......As things worked out, Tom was playing behind Dan Selway, the SCIAC All Conference Player of the Year, and Dan has two more years available due to medical redshirts, so his remaining time and Tom's time will coincide, although Dan is two years older......So Tom made the decision ( and I know it was a hard one ) to transfer to William Jewell College, in Liberty, MO. Once again you provided significant guidance and support. I truly appreciate your correspondence to both Coach Maynard @ Redlands and Coach Schwenk @ William Jewell ( I especially want to thank you for your email to Coach Schwenk, which led to his subsequent call back to you, all of which occured just prior to Tom's visit there). I also appreciate the great letter written by Coach Maynard on Tom's behalf. It's pretty clear to me that you deal with Coaches who truly value the student-athletes into whose programs we have entrusted our son. Tom also met a wonderful young lady @ Redlands, his girlfriend Jalene, and they are both going to attend William Jewell in the Spring of 2009.....
I also remember you telling me about how many wonderful colleges are available for high school athletes to look at. Many students in high school think only of the Division 1 programs....yet there are numerous, wonderful small-college programs available at the NCAA D-2, D-3 and NAIA levels - and your constant advice regarding the importance of grades was right on - many of the D-3 schools offer substantial merit-based scholarships, and the NAIA schools can offer both merit-based and athletic scholarships as well. William Jewell College has made a wonderful package available for Tom to attend what I have come to find out is a very highly rated college.
If I could offer any advice to parents with children who want to attend college and play the sport they love, it would be to hook up with you and follow your advice....You have been "right-on" with everything you have told us....
But Greg, to be honest, the most important reason that we want to express our thanks (to both you and Taylor) is not for your knowledge and guidance (which was awesome), but for the fact that you have always been there as both a Mentor and a Friend for Tom.......We could not be more thrilled with everything you have done - You are indeed a huge asset to the entire community, and I want to wish you and Taylor nothing but the very best.....Many, many Thanks for all you have done.....
Sincerely,
Dan & Tamie Farinacci
Greg, Just a quick note to let you know that Connor’s Head Coach at Eastside Catholic sent a note out to 30+ athletes about the 2009 schedule for Taylor’s workouts at the UW. Good sign; I sense your/Taylor’s program is picking up momentum. Taylor hired one of the Eastside Catholic coaches last winter and I know he really sung the praises of the program to the entire coaching staff. This is something that you, I and Taylor have been talking about for many years. I am not sure if you or Taylor have seen the facilities at ECHS, but they are fantastic. Next time you are in town, I would love to show off the field and weight room. If you ever need a place to work out, I would be glad to introduce you to the head coach and AD. ECHS made it to the quarter finals of the WA state football championships and lost to Lakes 18 – 14. Connor played behind a senior who was a Barton protégé. His coach is very honor-bound to play seniors, but Connor did get a lot of snaps. Connor is focused on next year and has asked about your workouts. He will be there front and center when they commence. He is now 6’ 3” and weighs 195 lbs. Best of all, he is the coachable athlete you have assisted him in becoming – thank you. We are grateful to you and Taylor. I hope all is well for you and your family. I look forward to seeing you soon. I know you are busy, but next time you are in town, I would love to break some bread if your schedule allows. Best to you, Taylor, your bride and your beautiful daughters. Please pass my note along to Taylor as I do not have his email address. Best,
Dennis McCormick | VP Sales & Client Development

Hi there, Mark,
Thanks for getting back to me. I’m glad to help out! I had no idea Melody was getting married – wow! I have a few thoughts on people who might have the time, talent and inclination to do the books and will put feelers out to see if they are available. What is the time commitment so that I can at least tell them that much? I know a few people from church who might be interested and also a few Skyline football moms whose boys have done – and will be doing – camp again this year. Is it an in-office job, or something done from home? (That would be helpful to know since many of the people I know are moms who have to work around kids’ schedules…) I also have to ask if it’s OK for me to apply the 500.00 we paid for the winter camps towards the season pass. We signed Alec up for the UW sessions (Jan – March) before the season pass information was up. I should have checked with you first about a season pass, but I didn’t want to be presumptuous and just assume that you would be doing it again. It’s great that you are and Alec really can’t wait to get started training with Taylor and his staff again. Thanks for being in touch and for your kind words about Alec. He was sorry to see the freshman season come to an end and is very glad to have Barton Academy to look forward to! I don’t know if Taylor told you this, but Alec ended up having a really special year – not because he had the ball all the time (he didn’t!), but because he grew so much as a player – and as a person. He loved his coaches and they seemed to really appreciate his work ethic, and wound up starting as a receiver from the very first game and after a couple injuries on the team, took over as a starting DB (corner) as well. He loved both positions! Taylor taught him so much about how to develop meaningful relationships with coaches and adults in general, and he is applying those principals in both sports and in school. We see him working harder than ever on his grades this year, and I know for certain it is because he is trying to live the Barton philosophy: “Doing the little things right.” Alec truly sees that that means both on and off the field! And that is why we love this program, Mark. It’s about so much more than “just football”. I know I sound like a broken record, but the fact is he would never have come this far without you and Taylor bringing Barton Academy and T-12 sports to Seattle. Thank you seems pitifully inadequate for all the many things this program has done for Alec (and for what we know it will one day do for Ethan, too!), but I’ll say it anyway: THANK YOU!!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

Subject: RE: Barton Football and FCA in greater Portland
Greg... What an awesome response... your words of wisdom were just what I needed... I hope you do not take this wrong in any way, but it is times like this that I wish my dad, Max's grandfather, were still alive for me to council with... this is truly a heart felt reply with years of wisdom and experience supporting it... At times I think we are starting kids at too young an age, but as long as we have great coaches that understand age appropriate issues, then our kids will enjoy, learn, and have a desire to continue... So thank you very much for your comments and support of youth sports... you will see us soon... Chris, I am sure we will see each other soon... By the way... for both of you... attached is an invitation to the Greater Portland area FCA Banquet Dec 2. I am on the board of directors. Les Steckel, whom I am sure you both know or know of, who is president of FCA, will be here. I would love to have you join us as my guest, with your spouses. My wife, Lori will be with me. I would love to see West Linn high and youth sports have an active FCA huddle in place for our kids and coaches to gain support from. And Greg, you and your son and camps reach so many young people, not sure how or if FCA could fit, but it woudl be great to get to know each other better to see if there is a fit. Feel free to let me know if you have an interest and can fit it in to your schedules. And if not, no problem. See you soon either way and Happy Thanksgiving to your families.
Best regards,
MARK RUSSELL

We have been looking forward to hearing from you re: winter camps in Portland, thanks. My 9th grade son Anders Westlund will be planning to attend all sessions at Portland CC this winter. You asked for suggestions; More of the same for QBs plus it would be helpful to learn more on reads of DBs. The classroom sessions have been great on citizenship, leadership, academics and college planning.
Thanks, Ed Westlund

Subject: RE: Barton Football Academy - Updates
Thank you for your email update - Maxton MacLachlan will be ready to attend in Seattle for 2009 workouts, please do keep us posted. In addition, I want to say thank you for working with my son in both receiver and quarterback positions last year. The progress he displayed on the field this year was absolutely enormous. It was fun to watch him use many of the same techniques he first learned at your camp...not only the proper receivers stance and cutting technique, but when he played QB and executed "rollout" passes he kept his momentum moving forward. I have to say, you guys run a great academy and I know he is excited to return. Thanks again - Kent MacLachlan - Head Coach Eastlake Wolves Red Cubs
Very Proud of Jake Heaps - Skyline High School (Sammamish WA.) Junior QB who was named one the best High School Junior QB's in the USA by several media guides! Jake has been attending our training sessions since his 6th grade.

Alec came home today on cloud nine, Mark. Taylor called him up front and said some very kind and complimentary things about him to the group and talked about Alec’s work ethic. I can’t tell you what that meant to Alec and what it means to ME as a mom that Taylor appreciates honest effort. I will never be able to tell you and Taylor both what this program has done (and is doing) for him and it goes so much deeper than just becoming a better football player. See you soon -

My son, Mac Brandenburger, attended the Lineman Camp you help this spring at Lewis and Clark. He commented after camp, that he really he learned a lot while there.
He just returned from the LOS Camp held at Western Oregon University, where he was awarded Most Valuable Defensive Lineman, Freshman. He mentioned that his technique was better than a lot of his peers. I am sure this was a direct result of the instruction he received at your camp this spring.
Just wanted to pass along some kudos...Keep up the good work.
Sincerely,
Dena Brandenburger

Mark,
Everything went great in New Orleans. The team went 11-0 and took the whole thing! Jake was awarded tournament MVP. NFL network even mic'd him up for a half.
You can text or call Steve and he can give you the details.
Thanks for asking!

Hello Mr Barton,
I hope you and your family are doing great. We value you as a person of good character and friend. My boys are looking forward to the skills camp at Lewis and Clark. Here is an update on Patrick Jr. NFLDRAFTSCOUT.COM has him projected for the 6th round of draft year 2010. He is the #1 cornerback for (FCS) draft year 2010. He is back in Illinois going to summer school and working out with teammates. Many outstanding athletes have gone through your camps and has had success both on and off the field. My family and I thank you deeply for your hard work and tireless work ethics. Best wishes to you and your family. See you at the camps.
Sincerly,

Subject: Hi Greg
Hi Greg:
I wanted you to see that out of the 6 QB's that stood out in the crowd on Saturday, 2 of them are your boys!!!! Way to go Barton Football Academy!!!!
Also impressive were the talented underclassmen quarterbacks that were on hand.
Led by Jake Heaps, who already reports 10 Div. 1A offers, fellow class of 2010 quarterbacks Josh Milhollin from Medford (Ore.) South Medford and Trevor Siemian from Orlando (Fla.) Olympia, all drew the attention of coaches for their strong arms and consistency on the field.
Thank you for all you do to invest in the boys in all aspects of their lives, not just football. It is hard to go to some of these events and not compare and be disappointed. Thank you for reminding us that you are more about building relationships than your business. I cannot tell you how much that means to us. It was so helpful to call you on Saturday thank you for the time you spent talking with us and giving Josh and I both perspective. We both have a lot to learn and it is nice to have you helping us in the process.
Thank you we appreciate you more than words can say.
Sharon Milhollin
PS
It was so awesome to be at OSU. Their coaching staff is so great!!! Josh had the best time and it was his first time to be at a college and meet the coaches. Patrick had a great workout and turned a lot of heads.... I am so glad it worked out for both of them to go!!!!!

Taylor,
Thank you for all of the personal training you gave Brennen tonight. He came home on cloud nine with a new frame of mind and improved self confidence. I can honestly say that tonight will probably rank as one of his best memories in life...."the night he was coached by Taylor Barton". We look forward to camp the next couple of weeks and we'll see you tomorrow @ 8:00 a.m. at LC. Regards,
Terry Wolvert
Thanks so much for your email. Michael loved your camp and working with you and all the coaches. He is really ready to work hard. It's good for him to see that he has a long way to go but that only motivates him more. We're definitely signing up for spring and summer camps.
Thanks and see you soon.
Patrice
Greg It's good to hear from you. I would love to come by and see you and Taylor on Sunday but I’m actually going to be in Portland this weekend spending time with my family because it's Easter weekend. I would love to workout this summer and I will be there as much as possible. I have always felt that I got more out of those workouts then any other workouts I have ever done. I sincerely love working with you and Taylor. Thanks for everything you and Taylor have done from me. I don't think I can thank you enough. Talk to you soon.
Kyle Bennett Quarterback University of Oregon
Greg; Brennan is very fired up for official practices to start next week at Sunset. I know the conditioning, throwing, and education that he has gotten from you and Taylor this summer has been awesome. Thank you so much for your passion to help kids succeed! Amy Sim
Thank you for a great day of football last Saturday in Seattle. My 8th grade son loved it...loved the movement and constant reps. Originally I signed him up for just the first session, but now he wants to attend the second one in May as well. See you on Saturday morning. Terry Connell
Greg and Heather; Hi! Just a quick update on Clay; he is doing really well at Michigan State University and LOVES it. He has earned a spot on the traveling team. He helps signal in plays. Michigan State’s first away game is Notre Dame! Last week he was "Scout Player of the Week"! Thanks so much for enabling his dream to start to unfold. The Spartan stadium was sold out last week versus Kent State and it is by far the first time Clay has been around that many people at the same time! I am sure he is going to be dumb-founded when they go to Ohio State. Hope all is well and our best to your family. Many thanks and much appreciation for your hard work, time and effort. The training he has received from you and Taylor has been special.
Katie and Brian Charles Hi Greg, I would like to express my appreciation for Chris Budke’s coaching help for my son Kelly and his friend Luke Glenn. My son is the kicker for Sherwood, tough game on Sat, but the boys had a really good season. I want to say thanks. He really helped them a lot. . Thanks, Henry
Hey Coach Barton, I don’t think I would be half the receiver I am without your Air Attack Camps and I sure wouldn’t be going to Southern Oregon University without Next Step. I remember the first workout of yours that I attended over at the Multnomah Athletic Club. I thought I was going to die that day, but I somehow got through it. I caught more passes in that day in the gym that I had caught in my entire life. From that day forward my football has really taken off. Thank you for giving me so many opportunities and I look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at Air Attack camp on Sunday. Brian Harding #1
Taylor,
Just wanted to let you know how much my son, Donny Lisowski, is enjoying your QB camp in Seattle. He really likes the whole package of experienced coaching, attention to form, and plenty of reps. It's more than a camp, it's like getting a QB masters degree.
Keep up the great work... Bob Lisowski
Hi Greg, Just wanted to follow up on the Eugene Camp and say thanks. My son (Zac Hunter) had a great time and is looking forward to attending a session in August and hopefully some in the Winter, basketball schedule will need to be worked around. I can assure you that he will be in many of your camps in the next 4-5 years. I had one question I hoped you could help with about the throwing motion itself. Could you give me a quick skill breakdown of the throwing motion, starting from the ball position to the follow through? I am pretty solid on the footwork and drops because I learned much of this watching your drills, it is the actual throwing motion I could use some clarity with. I have heard so many different versions on such things as they follow through --pinky down, slight rotation of hand out, follow through in.... Again thanks Greg
John Hunter South Albany HS Taylor
Thanks for the update. I think it's great to see you helping kids get connected with coaches and football programs around the country. My son Paul still remembers the football camps that you participated in with him and how he would join you out on the football field after the Beaverton football games...you made a great impression on him back then and continue to be a great role model...
Thanks for all you do for these young men!!
Dirk Werhane
We will be there tomorrow night, thank you for the invite. How many more weeks will you be doing the sessions? We started football conditioning last Monday-Friday and Brennen has practice again for the next 4 weeks prior to his first game (5:30 – 7:30 pm). He also has a camp with the Wilsonville coach (George Crace) on Monday-Wednesday this week from 1:00-4:00, so we’re trying to figure out how many more sessions he can attend. Generally weekends are great for us. Also, Brennen wanted to write a letter to Taylor and thank him for the impression that he made on his game. Can you give me his new address and any other contact info? We have Beaver season tickets so we hope to cross paths in the future years. I cannot believe what a difference it has made in his work ethic and attitude toward football. Taylor and you were truly a positive influence in his life and he wanted to him to be able to tell you how much the camps and the session helped his attitude and football performance. You are/were both the kind of mentors that parents hope for. See you tomorrow. Regards, Terry Wolvert
Greg, let me introduce myself. I am Ron Richards. I coached college and high school football for 29 years. I was either a head coach or an offensive coordinator for all of that time. I began as an offensive line coach and end as a quarterback coach. I have coached 3 college all-American quarterbacks. Currently I am the AD at McKay High School in Salem. Before coming to Salem I was the Offensive Coordinator at the University of Montana.
The reason for this correspondence is that I miss working with athletes. I tried to track you all down a month ago but didn't have much luck until I got the e-mail about your camp during spring break. I know it is a late date but if you are looking for someone who knows the game, I am available. I have gone back to Montana to work camps the past couple of years ago but this is too far to travel so I am looking for closer opportunities. If you wish to talk to me about my experiences please call. Your camps are special and I would sure like to join you.
Thank you.
Ronald J. Richards CAA Athletic Director McKay High School
Mr. Barton,
I just writing to tell you that I am doing well and my camp has been going really well. I believe that we will be good... young at receiver though. We have an opportunity to be one of the top Junior Colleges in California. Thanks again for working with me and your efforts to help me out... They are appreciated more than you know. I look forward to talking to you soon.
Sincerely, Jarrod
Greg and Taylor:
Thank you so much for allowing our boys to attend your camp. Once again they got so much out of it. It seemed to all come back to them like that had never missed a day. The boys are developing their quarterback skills in a way that only your camp can provide with its great coaches and older boys as examples of what hard work can accomplish. I only wished that we lived closer so we could bring them to every session. But we will work on our own and come when we can. Thank you so much. Gene
Coach Barton, I ran into a father of a former Tigard QB from a couple years ago (forget his last name) he said you really helped his son out and now he is playing for a college back east. His words of advice "stay with Coach Barton". We will try and make the 25th & 26th and then the Spring Camp in Portland with the Sherwood Football Team. Thanks, Corey Ostby
Hey Mr. Barton Thanks for having me at the Air Attack Camp; I learned a lot about the game and about me so I was happy that I was able to attend. Sorry I wasn’t able to make it on Thursday as you know I had that leg problem and I was getting it checked out at the doctors. The conclusion from that was that I have compartment syndrome, I don’t know exactly what that is but all I know is that it is fixable. So hopefully my body heals quickly and well. Have you had any more calls or questions about me? If so let me know I am just curious. We have doubles starting on Monday and I am excited and very ready for it. I feel like the advice that you gave me really worked and I feel like my body is in 100% better shape then it was three weeks ago. So thank you for your help and support. I put my dads email address at the bottom; this is his work email so he will check it unlike the other ones. Hope that you have a good doubles week.
Dallas Hogensen
Greg I'm really proud of Greg Jr. Taylor and you should be proud of him also. It's the job that you guys have done as to the reason Greg is playing at the level that he is now. He has great confident in himself and ability to play at this level and it because of AIR ATTACK is the reason that it is happening. I can't thank you enough for the things you have done for my son and me. Thanks and I'll be in touch. Again you guys have done a wonderful job.
Thanks,
Greg Carradine and the Carradine family
Hi Greg - yes Taylor sent back an email asking for a contact number, I look forward to hearing from him and chatting - thanks so much for taking the time to discuss these things with the parents, it's so appreciated. Just a quick side note - I hope that you and your family really and truly realize how much these kids look forward to the camps and the time that you all provide - it's unbelievable! Kathy Hunter Coach Barton, I have had a great time at the Air Attack Football Camps in Eugene and in Portland so far and am looking forward to the Seattle camp as well. I have noticed improvements in my footwork, agility, and quarterbacking as a whole. I am working on my speed and weight training and I would like to participate in the Nike Combine Camp this summer. If you could recommend me to the camp, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Nick Maxwell
Greg,
I just wanted to say that the Air Attack Kicking and Punting camps were terrific. Chris Budke really knows his stuff. He really improved my punting greatly. I used to kick punts at about 40 to 45 yards without a spiral. Now I'm kicking punts from 50 to sometimes even 60 yards with spirals - it's intense. After I get back from my Ray Pelfrey Kicking Camps in August I think I'd like to reshoot my video and put my punting on there as well.
I talked to my dad and he knows this football coach who coaches at Walnut High School in Los Angeles and he has been there for 20 years. I guess he knows all the UCLA and USC coaches. This football coach wanted to work out with me and then take me to UCLA and USC to introduce me to coaches and have me kick a little. I wanted to know if you recommend that. Hope all is well for you.
Brandon Miller
Greg, I don't know if you and Taylor want to know but Nicholas as a 5th grader is the starting QB for an undefeated Westview 5-6 team. He is 7-9 passing and has run for three touchdowns. You gave him confidence above all else and he can't wait until January for Air Attack. I have goose bumps writing this because he is so happy. He was always an athlete and a starter but he is a different player since he worked with you and Taylor. By the way he hasn't been sacked once and his footwork is drawing attention from a lot of coaches. Michael
Coach Barton, I had an awesome time this season. I have never had so much fun in my life. Varsity Football is like nothing that I have ever done. I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to make myself a varsity football player. I sincerely appreciate all the time and effort you have invested in me. The rides up to Seattle, the Air Attacks, and The Passing Camp at The Hoop are all things that I greatly appreciate and enjoy. I am already looking forward to January and starting another year of camps.
Sincerely,
Todd Olson
Coach Barton, I am doing well at the University of Tulsa. I am throwing well and learning a lot about the system. I would not be here without your help and support. You and Taylor are a big part of my life and I just can’t thank both of you enough. Please say hi to Taylor for me and I look forward to hearing back from you.
Dave
Ray Schmidtke, “Wow, what a great time this week, and good to get to know you better! Mr. "Tired Arm" (Calvin) was home only 15 minutes before walking out the door saying he was going to throw passes to one of his receivers. I guess he did get that evening workout in after all. I could not help but reflect a bit on the way home. Thinking about your camp and your time with the kids; I know it is special. I had 7 years (84 months in a row.....for real) coaching Calvin, Barrett and Tucker and teammates. Football, basketball and baseball; how lucky for me to have that experience, not just with my boys but with so many others. (Had Tony Rehn in baseball) Anyway, I left feeling that the Barton Academy is one which many of them will look back on with fond memories. There is a feeling of family in the way you and staff work with the kids. You must take pride in the success stories and to see them grow. My Best, and thank you again!
Hello, Mr. Barton My name is Cameron Hein. I go to Corvallis High School and am a sophomore. I recently went through your three week football camp at University of Oregon which is by far the best football camp that I have gone to so far. I was thinking about what camps that I should apply for this summer and kind of wanted an opinion from you. At this moment in time I recently ran a 4.71 forty and I’m trying to get it below a 4.69 by August, so that would leave me two years to get it down even further to were I hope around a 4.4. Since I live in Corvallis my coach thinks that the Oregon State University Football Camp would be a good choice, but I feel that I need to work on agility more. I was wondering if you know of any camps in Oregon or Washington that mainly focuses on speed and agility. I feel that if I can improve on those aspects, I will be able to put myself out front from other people. I also remember you talking about the Eugene Nike Combine after the last session and I would appreciate it if you can help me get an invitation to that event. Once again I really appreciate how you ran the camp and it taught me fundamentals that I haven't learned yet. I plan on entering into another camp of yours very soon. Thanks again.
Sincerely,
Cameron Hein
My son, Kevin attended your punting/kicking camp at Lewis and Clark this summer. Kevin enjoyed being with other kickers and it helped him get ready his try out, and then gave him confidence throughout the season. Coach Budke suggested checking back in after the season to see about what Kevin could do in the off-season. I am hoping we can get some information on what Kevin can do until your camps begin next summer. Any help you can provide would be appreciated. Thank you,
Valerie Miller
Coach Barton, Hey sorry it took me so long to respond but I never really got a chance to show my parents the Next Step site. Anyhow the site looks awesome, and the video is way better than I thought it would be. I know you said it would be extremely hard to make me look semi-okay but somehow u managed to pull it off. Truthfully, and you can even vouch for me on this one, I was just kind of scared because I didn't feel like I threw even one good ball. But the video is totally awesome, I absolutely love it (except I think I look kind of robotic in my very first drop, but that’s probably only because I've watched the video like 100 times by now) but I guess you can't ever be perfect.
The site looks absolutely perfect, too. The only mistake I could seem to find is a real small one that may even seem ridiculous but my parents said it needed to be corrected; is under Athletic Information, Achievements. It says "Portland State University; Calculus 1 and 2" when it should say "Portland State University credit in Calculus 251 and 252". And also my 40 time is 4.75 so maybe that would better than rounded up to 4.8.
Other than that the site and the video are totally awesome. If you get Coach G's (Geske) and maybe Coach Matt's (Geske) comments then it will be complete. Also I was thinking maybe it would be cool to get Anthony Newman's comments up there too or do u think my site already has enough? Because I did a ton of speed training work with him and footwork stuff that was not necessarily quarterbacking stuff but stuff more for all round athleticism this summer. Again, just a thought, and don't be afraid to shoot me down harshly if any of my random ideas are just plain stupid. I'm just trying to have fun with the whole thing. But seriously thanks so much for everything; I think it truly did turn out good.
See I just want to let you know how truly appreciative I am for everything you've done for me. It just cracks me up to think back about Air Attack Football and how I'd be doing a drill (and going hard of course) and just think if this stuff was ever really going to work. But I mean I owe absolutely every single yard, td, completion, interception ha-ha I'm just kidding, whatever, to you and Taylor, and Budke, and Coach Simonson, and Coach Fanger, and the whole Air Attack staff. You guys are just awesome, you truly got me and my skinny frame to where I am now and I just wanted to let you know that. I mean people credit Coach G and Coach Matt, not that they don't deserve every bit of it because I couldn't ask for any better coaches, but I credit you guys too. How I see it is you made me a Quarterback. And Coach G and Coach Matt made me a Tigard Quarterback. They took the quarterback that you created and coached me intensely to our specific offense. But as in being just a Quarterback with no school or system or label you guys 100% got me where I am. I just wanted to let you know that.
Okay, wow this is pathetic; I don't think I've ever written this much for anything in school even. Wow. Oh well. Hopefully you're not asleep by the time you get way down here but I'll be hearing from you soon. Thanks again. Your guy,
Scott Bonnono
P.S. Seriously some teacher should give me extra credit somewhere because I just pretty much wrote a freakin novel. I think I'm gonna look into getting this thing published.
Rob & Deb Closs, parents of Kasey Closs, quarterback, class of 2010 from Lake Owego: “We are very excited by the timing of the Air Attack Mini Camp. We love Air Attack. Kasey has really grown from the winter/spring Sunday camps. We look forward to doing it next year.”
Harv Schubothe, father of Chris Schubothe, quarterback, class of 2005 at the new West Salem High School: “My son has enjoyed the Air Attack Football Camp and has benefited immensely. His confidence has grown beyond any expectation.”
Dear Mr. Barton, I just wanted to thank you for everything you’ve done for me this winter and spring. I was able to get into the Stanford combine and the Elite 11 camp at California last weekend with Kevin Riley and Cody Kempt. It turned out to be a great experience and I felt our work together really prepared me for it. I was able to get into the top group with Bob Johnson (who says hi by the way) and it was great work. I loved the competition and played well. It really prepared me for the Oregon combine and I’m just gonna keep working for it. Thanks,
Brennan Sim
Greg,
We just spoke on the phone within the last hour or so. Are family lives near Issaquah and I mentioned to you that my son, Jake would be a going into the 6th grade this upcoming school year and would be eventually attending Skyline High School were Steve Gervias is the current coach there. I just spoke with my wife and relayed our conversation to her. My wife then asked if Greg would be available this Sunday (17th). So I'm wondering because we have a commitment at 4 o'clock that afternoon if there was a chance we could work something out and start by 10am. Or would you be available Sunday the 24th. We are excited to come down and have you work with Jake and see what you think and give us your own analysis. James Hasty ex Kansas City Chief is who told us about you and your Air Attack Camp. I'm a big Husky fan so I know about you and your son that way, and just read in the local paper about the positive influence you have had recently with Carl Bonnell. It was great talking to you and I look forward to hearing back from you soon.
Best Regards,
Steve Heaps
Greg, Well we just got back into Pendleton after a long spring break week that is for sure. Connor was pretty demanding that before I turned in for the night that I e-mail you. That kid was floating all the way home today!!! Being in a facility like that (Indoor Moshofsky Center) and being out of the gym and onto a field working with your staff was again a pretty special afternoon for him. Oh and being able to spend some time and some fun dialog with Kellen Clemens was not too bad. WOW did that step this football thing up with that kid. He didn't stop talking about the station he had with Taylor and Kellen together. And Kellen came over and introduced himself to Stacey and I and probably gave us the best compliment we could of hoped for, he said "the kid has real ability but what he liked was he was a great young man with solid handshake and he looks you in the eye, a real good kid"; real special for Mom and Dad to hear that. Thanks again with providing another great experience for our family. Finally on the way home, wait, I mean before we got into our vehicle Connor asked me if we could come back next Sunday. I told him I wasn't completely sure of our plans but if it was something that could happen I would check in with you and see if there would be an available spot to come back to Eugene. If you could give that some thought and I will see where I'm at with digging out from being gone this last week and let me know what you think. Again thank you so much, you have taken my young man to another level of excitement with this great game and I appreciate it very much. Walt Walt Johnson Assistant Football Coach Pendleton High School
Greg, you did a great job at the Nike Football Clinic. I heard a lot of positive comments from coaches who attended.
Ron Ronald J. Richards CAA Athletic Director McKay H.S.
Greg, Thanks so much for a great Sunday, again. Connor had us going all the way home, going over the whole session that myself and his grandpa just watched, but it didn't matter to Connor he had so much energy he wanted share with us. My dad had a great time watching all the kids work, the lineman also. He was at a session back in late January and he commented after yesterday's session on some of the kids he remembered seeing earlier on how much more smoother they were on their feet. He also had a great conversation with an older gentleman he met right when we got there yesterday. It was Coach Pflugrad's (From U.O. now) father. I believe he is almost 90 and had a real sharp memory and dad and he got to visiting and boy did they confirm we live in a small world. It ended up that Mr. Pflugrad's best childhood friend he grew up with in Corvallis was my dad's Freshman Football coach at Montana State in the 50's. They went on and talked about many names and memories that were similar for the both of them. We also got to meet that young mans father from Stayton that I told you about last week. We knew a lot of the same people he new from when they lived in Pendleton prior to moving to Stayton. Connor had another great opportunity to visit with Kellen Clemen’s and even got Kellen to wear a new Pendleton Buckaroo Football shirt that Connor gave to him after the session. Kellen was great with the kids. Thanks Again, Walt
Greg, I wanted to take a few minutes to thank you for your camp the past 3 weekends at the University of Washington. My son Tait, who is 14 but has been playing football for 7 years, loved your camp and can't stop talking about how much he's learned during your sessions. His confidence is sky-high and he'll be working hard this summer to have a great freshman year at Skyline this coming Fall. Your camp had great organization, fantastic drills and excellent coaching. It was great to see very positive and strong encouragement at all times. We will definitely be back next year. Thanks again, Wayde Stephens P.S. If you could say hello to Ron Simonson for me, I'd be grateful. I understand he is also part of your staff, although he didn't make the trip to Seattle. Ron was my head coach in college at the University of Puget Sound and it would be good to connect with him to say hello.
Scott Bonnono, quarterback, class of 2004, Tigard High School: “The winter “passing Game” seminars were by far the most fun and beneficial of the MANY camps I have attended. It was just awesome. I wish it was still going on now. All of the coaches were great. I interacted most with Justin Wood, Greg Barton, Taylor Barton and Chris Budke. I really enjoyed the classroom sessions because those really went in depth into the coverage’s and what worked against certain coverage’s. Also what made the camp so much better than other camps was how when we went through drills we weren’t just doing it for the reps, the coaches would really break everything down and intricately correct us. I really had an awesome time at the camp. I can’t wait till next year.”
Lee Bellamy, mother of Nat Bellamy, wide receiver, class of 2010, from Gresham: “Nat really improved his receiving skills. One of the things he appreciates is the friends that he has made at your camps. The high school boys (in the Passing Game seminars) were so awesome with him. I know he will want to attend all your camps again next year.”
Thanks Greg for your time Sunday afternoon. The boys had a blast and enjoyed working with you a great deal. Your passion for kids and football is unbelievable. But the fact you are willing to meet two 7th grade boys on Mothers day for 2-hours is a testament to your passion and willingness to share your knowledge. I can guarantee anytime you and/or Taylor are bored we would have no problem dropping by........ :). Again thank-you and thanks for sharing with my son your insights. He is an incredibly hard worker and know is even more excited to practice and become the best QB he can. I guess what I am saying in a nutshell is for the two boys those two hours will always be remembered because of your incredible generosity and compassion. I do not believe until we arrived at the school, and even then, did they believe Coach Barton was really going to show. See you soon. We will be at one of the sessions in August, probably Lewis and Clark, if we don't cross paths prior. John Hunter Father of a 9th grade QB from Oregon
Coach Barton, Thanks for coming out and working with me on Saturday. I really appreciate you coming out on mother’s day I know you didn't have to. You taught me some good stuff so I can practice and get better. I will be coming to a lot more of your camps one more for sure this summer. Maybe ill see you before my next camp. I can't thank you enough for coming out. From,
Zac Hunter Doug Smart, father of Alex Smart, quarterback, class of 2004, Mt. Si High School in Washington: “All three guys who came down from Mt. Si High were really impressed with the (Air Attack) camp. Organization, coaching, content, the whole thing was incredibly well run. We all talked on the drive home and as luck would have it, the Mt. Si head coach, Charlie Kinnune was in the parking lot when we arrived back. After hearing about the camp, the first words out of his mouth were “can we get some more folks down there next Sunday”
Jim Beltz, President, Wilsonville Youth Sports & father of Jordan Beltz, class of 2008 from Wilsonville: “Please sign up Jordan Beltz for your Air Attack All Positions Football Camp. There will be a fairly large number of kids from Wilsonville this year attending your camp. It was a great camp last year and has generated a lot of interest. We have included it as one of the recommended camps on our football registration forms.”
Air Attack staff - My son, David Hensley (CHS) is currently taking the skills camp @ Lewis and Clark this week. What a wonderfully organized event. He says he has already learned a lot this first day. We look forward to upcoming camps so David can optimize his high school football experience.
Thanks,
Tammy Wissman-Hensley
Greg, First of all I just wanted to write you an email to tell you how much I appreciated everything you did for me over the past couple summers. You and Taylor are some of the most generous, nicest and friendly people I have ever met. I basically had personal training and I don’t think I paid anything for it and I want to let you know much that helped me. I only played receiver for one year and still got a chance to play in college at Princeton University and I am sure it is because of your workouts. So thank you and I hope all is well. Sincerely, Ian McMilan
Hello Coach Barton, My name is Butch Self I am the head coach at Estacada High School. I just finished my first year here. A couple of my players are attending your camp this year which I am very pleased about. My reason for this email is to contact about a question I have. I would be very interested in attending your camps to observe and learn the techniques you and your staff teach. I don't know if this is possible or if you allow it. I am willing to pay a fee for this opportunity, if it is a possibility that you are willing to consider. I am looking to become a better coach at the QB position, and would use this opportunity much like a clinic opportunity for myself. My experience is in line play. I coached at Sandy for ten years, with Don McCarty and Randy Wegner. I am moving to coaching quarterbacks next season so I am looking for as many learning opportunities that I can get to become a better coach. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for your time, Butch Self
Hello Coach Barton, We definitely will be signing up for the camp again this year. MacIan is looking forward to it very much. He had a very good fall, his team went 6-2 and he recorded over 1700 yards passing, 25 passing touchdowns (3 rushing) and only 4 picks. I am convinced that the work he did in the off season – specifically at your camp - had a great deal to do with his progress as a QB, and as a young man. Thank you! Jon Epley
Coach Barton,
We just beat our arch rivals Lake Oswego and won the League Championship. I played the game of my life and have never been happier. None of this that I feeling right now could have happened if it were not for you and everything that you have done for me.
Sincerely, thank you very Much
Todd Olson
Cyndy Lelli, mother of Scott Lelli, quarterback, class of 2004, Federal Way High School in Washington: “I wanted to take this time to thank all the coaches of the 2002 Air Attack Football Camp. My son, Scott had a great time & learned many things. He just attended the Annual Spring Football Camp at his own high school for the fourth year in a row, and from the first day I could see a tremendous improvement. I know your camp was one of the biggest reasons for his improvement. His passing ability and footwork skills were very noticeably improved and his confidence level too. Scott has attended the Rick Neuheisel Football camp for 3 years, the WSU team camp & the WSU passing league. Out of all these camps, I believe your camp gave him the most improvement. The drive from Federal Way was a very short 3 hours (each way) for what he got out of it. I know he will be back next year.”
Jen Herrington,” Hi Coach Barton, I just need to say again, you guys are fabulous!!! John loves being at your camps. He was high as a kite when he left and if not for his pitching and team responsibility, he would have much preferred to stay with you yesterday for the full session. Greg, you really inspire him. I also love what he said he learned; "how to keep the defense from killing me mom." Additionally, I noticed you adjusting his throw over the top vs. how he pitches. Thanks. Coach Taylor was also wonderful and it is remarkable all the personal attention you guys provide for my son, and all the boys. We are going to attend as many of your events as possible this year, and hopefully John will finally get a quarterback opportunity. At this point, he's not yet had the chance. I'm positive your training will make all the difference. It appears there's an opening in our league and all he needs a little extra guidance and lots of mileage to give him the edge. Thanks for all you do.”
Roger Levasa, father of Levi, a sophomore quarterback at Tualatin High School, “I'm checking the Tualatin High School football schedule (double days etc.) to make sure there is not a conflict and will register Levi when I confirm the dates in question. By the way, George Lemon suggested I look into your camp and so did George Crace. Both spoke very highly of your clinics and camps.
Greg - Thank you very much for the kind words. We get caught up in the win column sometimes and I wonder if I am doing a good job or not. I really appreciate all that you are doing to promote and improve Football in Oregon. I really believe that you have had a profound impact on our state and a lot of people. All my best, Jon Wolf Head Football Coach Gladstone High School
Taylor and Greg, I wanted to personally thank both of you for extra time and coaching you gave Brennen this week. The early morning sessions were a highlight for him because of the personalized attention and the sideline conversations you had with him. He learned a lot about playing football, but more about working hard and being a leader. You have no idea how much this has influenced his mind and how this may impact his future as he develops into a young man. Taylor and Greg, "you guys are amazing with kids", I can't thank you enough.
You both inspired him in ways that, us as parents, hope we can strive to achieve. You know that you succeeded with him when you hear him say, "Taylor said to be the first one in the weight room and the last one off the field", and Greg told me "You never know who is watching. Someday someone might call me and ask for a reference about you. Because you've been such a good kid, I will always say positive things about you. Someday that might get you a job." I only wish that he would listen to me when I tell him to clean his room. We will see you next week at camp. Thanks again.
Regards,
Terry Wolvert
Greg - I just wanted to let you know how much Michael is enjoying the camp. He seems to be understanding what is going on and appreciates the opportunity to work with the older players and the last few weeks with Kevin. Thanks for the help again. Sincerely, Andy
Barton’s,
Thank you very much for the time and effort you put forth in making me a better football player from 2003 to 2004. Without your motivation and guidance in the game of football, I don’t think i would be where I am today. I have enjoyed the Air Attack camps immensely and I hope to possibly come to another one in the near future. I also want to thank Taylor especially for coming out during the summer of 2003 and working with me as well as other high schoolers so that we could improve our abilities as football players. This letter is somewhat belated I know, but I think that you two deserve the recognition because of your invaluable efforts with me and with others. Thank you very much
Sincerely
Cory Dickson
Coach Barton,
I want to thank you for the great experience that air attack was this year, and for the opportunity that I got up in Seattle. Thank you for your time and instruction. I'm looking foreword to working more with you this summer.
Tom Farinacci
Dale Hillman, father of Chase Hillman, quarterback, class of 2006, Skyview High School in Vancouver, Washington: “He liked all the passing drills, and believed he became a better quarterback with the footwork drills. He likes practical passing drills where you have to choose the correct receiver based upon defensive reads. He will attend future camps. This has been a great experience for him as a quarterback.”
Vicki Courtney, mother of Taylor “TC”, “Wow......I did not realize the incredible places the game of football has taken the two of you. What a great ride, I'm sure. I feel grateful you’re so passionate about the game. Greg, you are such a huge part of so many wonderful journeys the kids are beginning. You both have helped countless children go from little guys (or girls).......remember, Madison, my daughter attended camp summer of 05) with incredible dreams to adults living out what once did not seem possible. You should feel really good knowing you have inspired and touched so many people in such drastic ways. Thank you for taking the time to call me back this summer when I needed your advice. At the time I was running a million directions and I regret I did not follow thru and get your help at that time. It meant a lot and said even more about your integrity and the enormous size of your heart. I feel lucky to be involved with a program that is so above and beyond any of its "competitors". You run a first class program and I'm so thankful Taylor, "TC", has the opportunity to learn from the best.
Mike Shears, father of Corey a quarterback at Hockinson High School in Vancouver, Washington. “Thanks for checking in with Corey. I know it means a lot to him. You were absolutely right with your recommendation to proceed with surgery ASAP. Although the surgery went well on Friday, the surgeon told us that there was more damage and instability than he thought. Any attempt to play this season could have been disastrous. The good news is his ACL and meniscus look very healthy. Corey is in a lot of pain right now and is encumbered by a full leg brace. However he has a very positive attitude and is charging through this with composure and determination. He intends to be 100% plus when Air Attack commences in January. Thanks again for your wonderful support. We'll keep you posted.”
Greg/Taylor:
Thanks for everything both of you did for Tyler & A.J. last week. I told A.J’s dad what an unbelievable time it was for both boys. And that both guys worked extremely hard! He is certainly excited & like me, wants to get his son down to be with you guys ASAP. It certainly was worth the long drive down from Calgary, Canada for both kids. Tyler told me that he was very excited to be able to throw the football with the older quarterbacks. He really admired the work ethic of all the players in your sessions as well as their commitment to improving themselves; all the quarterbacks & receivers. Tyler used the word "privileged" when he described to me how he felt to be able to work out with all of those guys & to be coached by both of you. We're already planning on coming down during the upcoming winter & certainly will be back in the spring & summer of 2006. So, rest assured that you'll be seeing us again, soon.
Regards,
Al Nickel Calgary, Canada
Taylor: I hope all is well! You guys do an incredible job coaching the boys. Even though Nick is only a 10 year old, you guys have helped him a ton with proper footwork & throwing motion. We can not thank you and Greg enough for your great coaching and being positive with him & the Wolverts! Thank you! Nights at your football camp have been a much needed escape for them from baseball... It also helps that FOOTBALL is their favorite sport anyway!!! Thanks again to you & Greg for everything!!!
Brent Highberger
Greg, My son just finished this week’s camp with you and your staff – I am so impressed with the things you all taught. Everything was so well orchestrated, and the size of the camp really allowed for one-on-one work as well as great team play! I truly appreciated both the technical skills taught and the positive coaching from the staff; the players really learned a lot. We will be there next year, with two kids! Regards, Elissa Scott, Wilsonville (Jeremey Wetherbee’s mom)
David Alderman “Hey Mark, Greg Barton forwarded your name to me. My son Davis is also going into 8th grade and will be attending the upcoming July 24th quarterback camp. Greg thought you could give us some information about the evening workouts.” Mark Evans “Just got back from Greg’s camp last night! Fantastic evening sessions – THEY are the best! Kids get a tremendous opportunity to get reps in with receivers. The older kids really support and help the younger kids as role models and mentors! The discipline that Taylor instills at the evening sessions is off the charts! I would be interested in getting some car pool numbers together with other Seattle area kids to attend future sessions. My son is also entering the 8th grade.
Greg. Alex would love to make it down for the workouts but school and travel time rule it out. Alex was home recently for the holidays and talked about your program and how much it has helped him. To say the least he feels it was and is a key component of preparing him for a shot at college football. If someone needed to see your influence in action Eastern Washington's program would be a shining example. Chris Peerboom ("Boomer" as Alex calls him), Alex and maybe very soon Corey Slater, who has an Eastern offer, are all Air Attack alums. It sure is fun to watch these guys grow and develop through the years and you must be proud when you see all the familiar names on college rosters. Anyway thanks for everything and we will keep spreading the Air Attack word. The Smarts
Ty Culver, parent of Anthony Culver, quarterback, class of 2008, Lake Oswego: “The ratio of coaches to athletes was superior to other camps we have participated in. I feel the Air Attack camps are well worth the time and money. The expertise your staff possesses is beyond what any other camp has to offer. Anthony had a great time and a very positive experience. He is excited and looking forward to future Air Attack camps.”
Greg,
Good to hear from you. Thank you for taking the time to give me a head's up on this. I spent a week in Prineville Reservoir camping with Doug Ainge and his family and he had a lot of good things to say about Taylor and some of the work he has done with Erik Ainge. All of the fall sport athletes are back on campus and classes begin after Labor Day. Once again, thanks for your help on this and if you ever want to come to Linfield to see a basketball game give me a call. Take care.
Larry Doty Head Men’s Basketball Coach Linfield College
Greg and Taylor~ Thank you so much for the great BBQ last Sunday. You had a perfect day with the weather and great food. We also wanted to say thank you for all of your work you have done with Evan. We know, as coaches at different levels, that it is the coach’s job to work with the athletes. We see you putting in the time with all of the guys who come out to work with you. We love it that you are demanding of them, and hold them accountable. And obviously, your knowledge of the skills and the footwork and the strategy show up every time you correct a kid. Evan absolutely loves to come to your workouts. It is the highlight of his day. He can't wait for the high school season to start. This excitement for the game is the most important thing in our eyes. As long as he keeps having a passion for football, we will support him all the way, both financially and emotionally. As soon as he is dragging or not looking forward to it, we will have him cut back. Greg, I am sure you had the same philosophy with your kids! So thank you for all of the little comments you make to him, both corrective and constructive as well as the kudos and excitement for his future. I know what it is like to have kids hang on your every word, and how much power that is. It is great to see you not abuse that power and hold it over the kids. My junior players (freshmen in high school) think that I am a god, and that I know everything. Jeff's (collegiate players) know that he is not, and does not, but still knows a lot more than them! Coaching is a great opportunity to help shape kids lives and it is a joy to see both of you take that opportunity and use it for the good of the kids! Thanks again!! Jeff and Marty Mozzochi
Greg, I cannot thank you and your Air Attack staff enough for your enthusiastic and personable approach to coaching our son and every other athlete who has participated in your Air Attack Camps. The instruction has provided our son Cory a firm foundation in the fundamentals and skills necessary to be a successful quarterback. Cory will be attending Montana State University this fall on a full football scholarship. According to the Offensive Coordinator there, Cory’s footwork, quick release and accuracy was what got their attention. These are exactly the fundamentals that your program teaches through the many and varied drills. Again, our heart felt thanks to you and all the Air Attack staff.
Mike & Lynn Carpenter The Dalles, Oregon
Thanks Greg...
Konner has loved the line camp again. Nice job and kudo's to you and Coach Baker!
He will continue to come through his senior year...as a freshemen there is no doubt this has helped him.
Thanks again and thanks for the words of encouragement to the kids and letting them know what it will take to succeed at the next level.
Best Wishes;
Dirk Knudsen Greg, It was nice meeting you and Taylor. My husband just called from Oregon, and said that Steven really enjoyed camp, and running "routes" (football lingo I guess).
On Monday, when I picked Steven up he said that going to your camp was good for him - he's always worked hard, and loves to learn more. He's a walk-on at the University of Washington, so he can't go down and work out with the team yet. We don't know all the logistics of this yet, as it's so new to us. Steven's been going on his own to Inglemoor High School running the track, lifting weights, and working hard to get ready. He is so determined to play at the UW!
Your camp was perfect timing! We loved visiting Oregon. Our oldest son, Andy, will be playing basketball for Pacific University this fall. He found a place to rent while we were down there, so it was a very productive and fun week!
You have a good program down there, and I am sending Kim Grinolds a thank you for recommending your camp. It was great for Steven. We will (and I have already done so) recommend your camp to the friends and football people we know.
Good Luck to you, and hope to see you again at the Husky games and your camp, Again, thank you for all your help.
Janet Anderson
Greg, I just wanted to thank you for holding these camps for the players. They learn a lot and gain new friends and desire to play football like never before. Keep me posted on the upcoming camps. As always thanks! Tracie
Hi Greg,
Just wanted to thank you and your staff again for the wonderful experience that Jake has had with Air Attack so far this year. I just wanted to give you a quick update and also ask a question. First, we just got home last night from BYU's football camp. Jake was signed up in the 13 and under age group. Within the first day he was moved up to work with the incoming freshman. He did great! The camp had over 400 kids from all over the country. It was very interesting. No one but the camp director and one of the quarterback coaches knew Jake was an incoming 7th grader. He was treated as an incoming freshman all week; including participating in mixed classes 7 on 7. This was a new experience for Jake. His time with you really showed up during this opportunity. He was cool under pressure and he got an opportunity to really use his footwork and throwing skills. No one including his coach guessed he was a incoming 7th grader. On the way home in the car last night Jake told us a story of a quarterback from Texas that came up to Jake and said "your drop back looks like a University of Oregon quarterback." Jake said he just thought to himself, how did he know? Then he said he thought it must be Greg’s training. He said he smiled at the kid and thanked him. Just thought you might get a kick out of that story. We are going to be coming to the July 19-22 camp. Which session would you like Jake to attend? Either is great with us. Also do you know if Taylor is going to be doing any teaching up here in Washington this summer? We look forward to hearing back from you at your convenience. Thanks again for all that you are doing for Jake. Not only is he growing as a athlete but more importantly he is growing as a person. He is confident in his Air Attack family; he loves his coaches and their feedback. Jake can’t wait to come back and be with you all again.
Warm and kind regards,
Kelly Heaps
Hi Greg,
I'm glad you enjoyed the story about Jake. It was a pretty fun week. We actually are going to be coming to the July 19-22 camp due to the fact that Jake has his high school football camp the week before.
We hope that Taylor will be able to be at that camp too. Jake would just think he had died and gone to heaven if Taylor worked a bit with him. Taylor really made a great impression on him when he spoke to all the kids this last winter. Jake is very sensitive and Taylor’s story really touched his heart. It would be great if we could work something out with Taylor so that when he made it to Seattle he could give us a call and we could get him and Jake together.
We really appreciate your words of wisdom for us concerning Jake. We are working really hard to keep him grounded and happy. The hard part with Jake is that he is so driven all by himself. He is like having a tiger by the tail. We don’t have to push Jake; he does it all on his own, not just in football but everything that he is associated with. We are very conscious about helping him keep things in perspective because he is such a go getter. We don’t want him to burn out but to enjoy the moments as he is having his successes and failures. It’s all part of the road. We talk a lot of his backup plans and that grades are just as important as making a great pass.
Again we cannot thank you and the coaches at Air Attack enough for understanding Jakes passion for the sport and his desire to learn. I know Jake trust’s you and loves you, thank you for sharing your feelings about Jake with us. It just reconfirms that we are in the right place and traveling this road with the right people around him.
Have a happy 4th,
Kelly Heaps
Coach Barton, My name is Kevin Tranter I attended the 4 sessions at Lake Washington HS and I want to thank you for all you taught me. I was so amazed at what I learned in the little time and now I can take that back home w/ me (for myself) and to the rest of my team. I’m looking forward to attending future camps and clinics. Thanks again,
Kevin Hi Coach! Great job this year; MacIan has enjoyed the instruction and workouts and loves football. You and your staff have contributed tremendously to this passion, and I thank you for all you have done for him. I also appreciate the philosophical and ethical guidance you give the kids – your message is right on! Thanks for all you do. Your camp is outstanding, as are all of the coaches you have on staff. Best regards, Jon Epley
Greg It was a great day Kirby got a LOT of Running in !!! He was asleep before we got to the “falls” !!! We will see you @ UW in May Thanks Tom Moore Head FB Coach Prosser HS
Greg, Thank you for your inspiring emails. I enjoy reading them. My family really appreciates your hard work and for sharing what you know with our children. You make a strong impact on a lot of us. Moji Friedhoff
Greg, you did a great job at the Nike Clinic. I haven't heard from you lately. You are still expecting me to work in the spring, I hope. I really enjoy coaching in the Barton Academy. There is only one weekend that I have another commitment that I know of at this time. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
Ronald J. Richards CAA Athletic Director McKay H.S.
My name is Cameron Hein. I am a student and a three sport athlete at Corvallis High School. I have been attending your camps since the beginning of last year. I can say that your camp is by far the most fundamentally structured camps I have ever been too. Thank you for providing these Air Attack Camps for all of us.
Greg, I just wanted to tell you how impressed I was at the organization of the camp and how smoothly everything went. I had two sons in the camp Sunday, and each will be there during next two Sundays. My oldest is a sophomore from Grants Pass High School; the youngest is an eighth grader. The sophomore, Jennings Stewart was joined at the camp by his Quarterback, Buddy Saxson. FYI, each started at GPHS as sophomores, and there are some big expectations for each of them over the next two years as juniors and seniors. I’m going to try to get the two-time 1st Team SOC running back, Craig Dolmage to join us next weekend. Once again, thanks for the great opportunity these camps afford these northwest athletes. Jeff Stewart
Greg- Please tell Taylor thank you for helping LB- he's working on his athletic position and release right now. You guys are the best. See you soon. Scott
Greg, Thanks for working with Kellen he is really enjoying it. Jeron actually works on Sundays from 9 AM -6 PM so I have been trying to figure out some other time. We are going to the spring game next Saturday 22nd. He starts summer school June 26th. Kellen is going to be in Eugene this weekend with the Mathews for the track meet so I will not be coming down this Sunday. Kellen plans to attend the L & C sessions April 30th & May 14th. He will be with Jeron and me at KSU on the 22nd. I have been very thankful and appreciative of all you have done and continue to do for the players in my program and especially my 2 boys. I know you worked very hard on Jeron's behalf and getting him exposed to recruiters through your Next Step program. I know our program has benefited from your work in the Air Attack camps. Thank you. Brad Mastrud Head Football Coach Southridge High School
Greg- I just wanted to thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the QB camps over the last couple of months. I have learned a tremendous about quarterback play. I also hope that I am able to bring a little to the camps as well. Thanks Greg, Mike Lord West Linn High School
Greg, I just wanted to thank you again for the generosity in helping a player with finances. He, along with the other Centennial players, had a great time working out with your great coaching staff. As the numbers of bodies grow your staff continues to provide a great program for the football players around the state. Kyle once again said your camps are a lot of work, educational and a fun atmosphere all wrapped into one. You can't ask for more than that.
Thanks again
Ken Warner, CARP, Recreation Director Parks and Recreation Department City of West Linn
Dear Coach Barton, I am writing to thank you for all the outstanding instruction I received while attending your last two offensive/defensive lineman camps in Seattle (2005 & 2006). The instruction and techniques really helped my offensive blocking (rushing and passing) as well as improved my defensive line skills. I recently attended Skyline High School's incoming freshman spring camp with Jake Heaps and had a chance to display my much improved skills learned at Greg Barton Football Camp, 2006. I am happy to tell you that I, and four other freshmen (including Jake Heaps), were invited to attend High School UPS Team Camp in July. I feel very privileged to have this opportunity and will continue to work hard! I am very excited about this opportunity and would like to thank you and the Greg Barton Football Academy for helping me. Sincerely,
Jase Butorac Sammamish, WA
Thanks for the message. I have to tell you, my family really enjoyed last night. My husband and I have always liked watching drills and camps and were especially glad that Seann was such having fun. In fact, Seann was beaming with joy from the experience. It's funny, I even caught him skipping and hopping around with glee. I have a good feeling about this.... I think you've probably got yourself some more members of the 'Barton Fan Club.' Have a great day! ~Kynda
Greg, I wanted to send a quick note to thank you for all of the work and assistance that you have provided to Jake Gelakoska. He is a great kid who has a great future. He is working hard in the classroom, weight room and on the field. Hopefully with our guidance he can attain the dream of playing on Saturdays. Thanks again. Joel Vincent Head Football Coach H.M. Jackson High School
Greg, We appreciate all your work in the Northwest. I know that Joel Penner and I are interested in attending one of your camps. We are interested in recruiting your players and learning more about the QB position. If I can not make it this summer (I am having our 1st child) maybe I can attend one sometime later. Thanks for your help.
God Bless,
Eric Hehman Head Football Coach Greenville College
Coach Barton, I just wanted to pass on a good news story about your camp; my two sons Tyler (13) and Trevor (11) have been attending your winter and spring QB sessions as well as your Seattle Spring session. Both boys went to the Jay Novacek Camp in Dallas this past week and they finished up on Sunday, it is a week long overnight type camp with a ton of kids, Tyler earned the QB MVP for the entire camp. He has made incredible strides this past year with technique and particularly footwork and I just wanted to pass that on because it is a testament to the great job you and your staff are doing down there. Tyler gets back into Seattle Tuesday night and he will be showing up in Portland Wednesday morning for the final two days of your summer QB session, I hope this is OK with you as he is really looking forwards to working with your staff again. Thanks for providing the quality instruction!
TJ Jamison
Greg, Thanks again for camp. We really enjoyed the Offense-Defense Lineman Camp at the University of Washington. Coach Baker and his staff do a great job.
Coach Lukevich Ingraham High School
Greg/Taylor: Thank you VERY much for last weeks’ camp and evening sessions with Victor – WOW! We will attend your next camp scheduled for the 24th as well! I learned so much about how to be a Dad to an athlete just talking with you Greg! Victor and I got to “hang out” as 2 bachelors for the week!
I’ll see if I can get some other Skyline kids to come! When in Seattle – be my guest golfing anytime – maybe we can set up a game with a buddy of Ricks? Mark
Hi Greg: Thank you VERY much for the kind words concerning Victor – we are looking forward to seeing both you and Taylor next week! You truly “touch” peoples’ lives more ways than you can believe – hopefully we can hook up for a pizza/beer or golf match! Sincerely – Big fan of you guys
Mark and Victor Evans
Hey Taylor................Jayson and I will be attending the recruiting seminar tomorrow. Jayson will also be there for the "chalk talk". In case you have wondered where he has been......................He has missed some "group dynamics" due to passing league activities.......and Lincoln is having a summer camp Monday through Thursday ...July 17-27 5:30 PM-7:30 PM.
He wants to attend everyone he can for the rest of the summer.....He is very excited about the learning opportunity you deliver. Larry Hobby
Hi Greg, This is Jordan Ramp from Sherwood. I just wanted to say thanks for camp this week. I learned a lot of new things, and got a lot of reps throwing the ball. I'm going to try to make the August camp. So I'll see you then.
Hi Greg and Taylor! Thanks so much for EVERYTHING you do for Colin and us. We appreciate it more than you know. All the best! Tony
Greg, Thanks again for the week in Portland. Chris came home energized for football and is still riding the high. He looks so much more confidant in his throws and reads. He is infinitely more accurate with his throws and still talks about all the things he learned. Thanks. He is energizing his team mates and they are looking good. I saw his face on washingtonpreps.com today. You must have energized Dirk as well because he has been a machine catching balls. Nothing is getting by him and the difference in those two has been rubbing of on others. Thanks again.

Hey coach, Some of our linemen came to your camp this past week and loved it. They learned a lot and especially liked Ray Baker they thought he was awesome. Thanks for putting this on; the linemen sure appreciate it.
Thanks Coach Barton, Nick Apeland Quarterback-Glencoe High School
Greg, I'd just like to say you ran another great week of camps. I don’t think I could have asked for anything more. Everything we did was very beneficial for me. I feel more confident throwing the ball. Hopefully, I can find my way down their again soon. Anyways, I just wanted to say thanks. Please say hi to Taylor for me.

Hi Heather - Greg is an amazing man. Just watching him work with all of those boys & the love & respect he teaches them is very inspiring. I feel very lucky that we found out about him while Francesco is still young; he'll be able to grow up under Greg's direction & that will be very special. Francesco is going to attend 10 sessions total - his tenth will be this Tuesday. And you'll put me on the mailing list? We want to attend the winter camp, too. Thanks, Heather. ~Luciana Parent of Francesco, age 10
Coach Barton, Thanks for all the tips and pointers this weekend. I will definitely practice and transfer all the things you helped me with.
Chris Bolt Quarterback Lynden High School
Greg- I can’t thank you enough for all of your support and mental motivation you give our boys. Both Brennen and Brett were beaming with smiles about your comments and support for their play. As the Dad, I’m just Dad, but as a coach and a mentor you & Taylor have an unbelievable knack for getting the most out of the boys. Stephanie and I sincerely thank you and Taylor for your support and encouragement.
Terry
Hey Greg this is Mark Gardner. I wanted to email you to let you know how my football season is going so far. Camp went very well. I and the rest of the team got conditioned to the heat (which has usually been in the 100's during practice). They have me playing fullback and I am competing for the starting job with a senior. Our first scrimmage was last Friday. We played an all star college team from Great Britain called the British Bulldogs. It was quite the game. We won 60 - 0. I got a lot of playing time considering how much the offense was on the field. I think we scored five times in the first half with only 15 plays recorded. I got in the second offensive series and all together somewhere in between 15 and 20 plays. I had a few carries and a couple of first downs so I got to show some of what I could do. Our first game is this Saturday the 9th. We are playing Kenyon at home. So I was just checking in with you to let you know how things are going. Thanks again for all of your help with my recruiting and training. Without the Air Attack Football Camps and the Next Step College program I don’t know where I would be today. It has made all of the difference. Sincerely, Mark Gardner Clackamas High School Claremont McKenna College
Greg, I know, we are only half way through the season and I am bothering you for info on this winter. The oddest thing happened the other night. My son AJ came home from practice and asked if I would sign him up for the "Barton Camp." I told him it usually starts in January, but there would not be a problem getting him signed up. He seemed disappointed and said "January is a long time away, I want to start before that." This was odd coming from my son who usually needs a foot in his rear to get him going. I let the issue sit for a couple of days and then last night I asked him what happened to make him want to start football workouts so soon. What he said amazed me. He said he wanted everyone to know who the starter would be next season. He will be entering his senior year next year and has learned so much from you. He is looking forward to the Winter. Just thought you might like the story. George Burke
Hi Greg, Thanks for your email. Anthony will be there next week. He has weight lifting at Lakeridge during the same time so we were trying to get that worked out also. He will attend next week and two days the following. He has really enjoyed working with Coach Budke and always looks forward to the Air Attack Football Camps. We'll see you on the 12th. Thanks a bunch, Theresa
Greg I just wanted to drop you a note and thank you for all you and Taylor have done and are doing for Stephen. It is much appreciated. Mike
Dear Mr. Barton, I spoke with Mr. King. He was very kind and returned my call quickly. As we imagined he had nothing but wonderful things to say about you and your camp. We feel very blessed to have this opportunity. On that note we would like to take you up on your kind offer and would be grateful and humbled for you to help our son with his skills. We talked to the school and the camp dates do not interfere with his school team. In Michigan here they wait until a day or two before school in grades under 9. There is only one concern that I have and that is that after the camp it looks like Dustin would come home on a Friday. We practice a Friday evening to Saturday evening Sabbath and unless his flight would get him home prior to sundown on Friday we would be in an awkward position according to our beliefs until sundown on Saturday evening. I would need to check with flights on Friday and Saturday travel times. Most likely we would travel down state and send him from Detroit Metro Airport to hopefully avoid any layovers or plane changes as I think Dustin would be intimidated by large airports like Chicago. But I have not got that far yet and believe that I am getting a bit ahead of myself. As it is late we will talk more later regarding time frames and if you have any suggestions on flight arrangements please feel free to let me know. Again, we want to sincerely thank you for the opportunity to share your knowledge and skills with Dustin. He is very excited about visiting you.
Sincerely,
Maureen Reyhl Traverse City, Michigan
Greg, We are all set for a youth group at your clinic on 12 July. We have the required 4 QB's and 8 other skill position players. I will go to the website and attempt to register the gang. May we pay at the camp or will you require advanced payment? Please advice and we will get it done. In all honesty, I have played down the majority of youth camps I have seen in the past. Many were under coached and over priced. What you demonstrated at the CCYF Coaches Clinic was very impressive and I could see clearly these two young boys had been well schooled. Thanks for all you do for these youngsters and for the game! Rick Fields
Dear Coach Barton, I am a quarterback that is going to be a freshman in high school this year. I've been following Aaron Rodgers throughout his college and now pro career and I try to model myself after him. I am wondering what you taught him about proper passing mechanics because I can tell he is one of the rare college/pro quarterbacks that have perfect mechanics. What are the best mechanics of passing the football and how did Aaron develop the mechanics. I've been to a lot of quarterback camps but none of the camps actually focus on the arm in passing mechanics and a proper release. Please write back.
Thanks,
Austin
Greg, Thanks for the info. My son Yance will be at the QB/Skill Pos. camp 7/19 - 7/22, he has been to many camps since beginning football four years ago (including OSU) and we were the most satisfied with your camp. We are looking forward to next week.
Sincerely,
Jennifer
Hello Greg, I wanted to thank you for inviting our son Dirk to your camp in August. He enjoyed his time with the Christenson family and their son Tyler - and I appreciate your kind words about Dirk. They boys had a rough start last week - opening game with a league opponent made them a little gun shy. Hopefully they will be back on track this weekend. Again, thanks for allowing Dirk to come down to your camp and for the kind words. We think he's a pretty good kid too! Angie Dallas
Taylor and Greg I wanted to personally thank both of you for extra time and coaching you gave Brennen this week. The early morning sessions were a highlight for him because of the personalized attention and the sideline conversations you had with him. He learned a lot about playing football, but more about working hard and being a leader. You have no idea how much this has influenced his mind and how this may impact his future as he develops into a young man.
You both inspired him in ways that, us as parents, hope we can strive to achieve. You know that you succeeded with him when you hear him say, "Taylor said to be the first one in the weight room and the last one off the field", Greg told me "that some day someone may call about my character and then would ask that person if I was a good person because it may help me get a job", etc. I only wish that he would listen to me when I tell him to clean his room. LOL We will see you next week at camp. Thanks again. Regards,
Terry Wolvert
Dear Barton's My name is Calvin Schmidtke, and I attended your QB sessions at Lake Wash HS last May. I was introduced to you by my Dad's friend, Mr. Mead, from Bellevue. I am a sophomore this year at Life Christian Academy in Tacoma WA. I have started all 5 games for our team and we are off to a good start, 4 wins and 1 loss. My stats are 87-122, 71%, 1,319 yards, 16 passing TDs and 4 running. I have had 5 interceptions. I enjoyed being at your camp, and hope to join you this winter too if you offer same programs. Also, thank you for inviting me to watch the mini combine that you had after camp. It was fun to see that. Calvin
Greg - Nick is looking forward to learning from you & Taylor again this spring & summer in between his baseball games & baseball practices. You guys were awesome last year & we saw Nick's great improvements on the field in his footwork, throwing and leadership. He is already looking forward to football season by doing some throwing and a few speed & agility drills this past off-season. We look forward to seeing you this spring-summer. Thanks again, Brent Highberger
Greg:
I have a young man named Tymothy "Tym" Pearson who will be attending your camp at the Moshofsky Center. He is currently a freshman and is one hecl of a prospect. He has the potential to be one of the best athletes we've had. He's tall, fast, calm, intelligent and has a very strong arm. I was thrilled when he asked me about your weekend camp. He'll show up with his father and register on-site. I just wanted you to be aware of him.
Justin Starck Thurston High School
How does this weekend look for bringing Kellen for a workout? What happens if it rains !! , indoor facility ?? It looks like you have workouts Sat and Sunday, which would be a better day ?? Thanks Tom Moore Head FB Coach Prosser HS
Greg, I just signed my son John up for the QB & Skill Position Camp next week. He has conditioning next week, but wanted to do your camp again, too.
I wanted to let you know how much he has enjoyed your QB camps. This will be the 3rd or 4th one he has attended, going back to last year. He gets a lot out of them and always tells me great things about them.
Thanks for the help you've given him. For that matter, thanks for the help you've given both of my boys over the years.
Best regards,
Vic Petroff

Greg - My name is Ryan Meier. I am a head football coach at a small school in Montana. I am interested in sending some of my football players out to your camp. I was wondering if you could send me some more information on your camps. Thanks Ryan Meier
Hi Greg...Don't wait until he's a senior!!! If you've got nothing better to do...come this Saturday, 6:00 at Tigard and you can watch all four boys in action against Tualatin for their championship game! We would love to see Taylor as well. How is he doing? We still have that awesome message he left for us on our answering machine. I played it just last night for Alex, he will never tire of hearing Taylor's words of inspiration, and he was smiling from ear to ear!!! You're the best, Paula
Hi Greg, Two Seattle camps down, one to go. I just wanted to write you a note to let you know how impressed my son Adam and I have been with your Skill Position camps. The drills are very well organized, and run smoothly. Adam is getting a lot out of the reps running routes, as he prepares for 9th grade football at Skyline H.S. this fall, and we look forward to seeing you again this Sunday at Dempsey Center. Dan Albaum Sammamish, WA
Hi Greg, Again I want to thank you for allowing Jordan to participate in your camp. Even though he had limited participation due to his cast; he enjoyed the things he learned and really enjoyed working with the older group. Your recommendation to position him with the most advanced group was right on. It forced him to work harder and focus on the task at hand. Jordan commented on how much more he learned from the older group. I appreciate you and your staff's effort in working to make these young men better. Look forward to seeing you next year. Thanks,
Gary Harris
Keep up the great work! We're spreading the word to athletes that would otherwise miss out on the opportunities the Barton Football Academy offers. Have a wonderful rest of the week. We'll see you at an upcoming event or two or three….). Our son, Jordan Strickland of Auburn HS can't thank you enough for the impact of the camps on his off season workout thus far.

Hi Coach Barton,
I just need to say again, You guys are fabulous!!!
We are going to attend as many of your events as possible this year, and hopefully John will finally get a QB opportunity. At this point, he's not yet had the chance. I'm positive your training will make all the difference. It appears there's an opening in our league and all he needs a little extra guidance and lots of mileage to give him the edge.
Thanks for all you do,
Jen Herrington
Greg and Taylor Thank you. I am learned so much from you guys. The work is intense and tough, but I love every minute of it. I will be playing college back east; I will stay in touch. John
Greg and Taylor~ Thank you so much for the great BBQ last Sunday. You had a perfect day with the weather and great food. We also wanted to say thank you for all of your work you have done with Evan. We know, as coaches at different levels, that it is the coaches job to work with the athletes.
Hello Greg,
This is Taylor Stafford, from Clackamas High School, I know you deal with a lot of kids on a daily basis, but I believe you would remember who I am. I am writing to you to let you know that I believe I am going to attend Western Oregon University next year. Before my injury occurred this season, I really was looking forward to the opportunity of playing college football, however things didn't work out in my favor, and it took a lot out of me. Anyhow I have been doing a lot of thinking, and I have decided that I am going to try to walk on the football team at Western, and I was wondering if it would be possible if you could put in a word for me with Coach Duke Iverson. I don't think my playing days are over, and I want to continue playing. Also this Sunday I plan on attending Air Attack at the Beaverton Hoop with Brian Harding. Your football camps have made a difference in my life. Thanks for all your help this year, I appreciate it very much.
Taylor Stafford
Mr. Barton Thank you for all that you have done for me throughout the years. . It is much appreciated. I always enjoy talking with you. Thanks for all the support. You and Taylor have been a big part of my life. I can never thank you guys enough. I think back; you helped me get to Lake Oswego High School, then to Foothill Junior College, then to Grossmont Junior College and now to UNLV. What a journey it’s been. Thank you! God bless, Jarrod Jackson Quarterback, UNLV
Thanks for the camp! Kenny Squires is having a blast and can't wait for the fall. A satisfied dad- Ken Squires
Mr. Barton, Thank you very much for the great advice. That letter you sent was very cool and true. We got a bit lucky last night, but it's also true you can make your own luck. Anyway, we got by Westview 16-13. I was 24 for 41 for 340 yards.. I threw a T.D. and 2 picks. The last one almost cost us the game, but the DB fumbled on the return, and we recovered it at the same spot I threw the pick. Whew...I then hit Gayman for 40 yards and Ellis for10 yards and we were inside the 2 with first and goal and that was it. Tennessee offered me a full ride in writing' yesterday. They have a great program and I would be a fool to not seriously look at them. If you or Taylor have any ideas about Tennessee please let me know. I know they are shallow at QB and Clausen is a senior. They like players who can make plays, regardless of where they live. In their media guide they had guys form 15 to 16 States. I will remember your advice about coaching stability, coaching styles and QB coach communication and trust, as I move forward, towards a Feb. signing date. I haven't committed to any visits yet. ASU is one I'm serious about. Tennessee would be fun to check out. Can I use my 'own money' to visit the ducks and beavers and not have them count as one of the five official visits? Can you please get back to me on this? Thanks for your help and advice, Erik Ainge PS – The hard work is really paying off. Thanks.
Hey Coach Barton, Things are going good in Kansas for me. I am playing well. My arm feels great. Thanks a lot for all the time you and Taylor have put into me as a quarterback and a person. It means a lot. Sean
Coach Barton, I am planning on coming to Portland this summer and I would like to attend some of your quarterback camps so I can see what you guys are doing with the quarterbacks. I have been hearing about your camps for many years and I have seen some of your players that you have trained up close and I think you are doing a wonderful job. Bob Johnson is a friend and he has nothing but great things to say about you and your son. I was at the Eugene Nike Camp and watched you with the quarterbacks and I was really impressed with your knowledge and energy level. You are tough with them but very positive; that really caught my eye. Can you call me and talk about your summer schedule? I would appreciate it. Thanks coach.
Coach Evans
Greg, We have also appreciated the opportunity to work out at the Husky facilities in your Indoor Training. As I recently told you, this experience has caused my son, Vince Taylor, to be interested in possibily attending the University of Washington. It is exciting to actually receive interest letters from Coach Willingham. I have the utmost respect for him as a coach and a role model. Could you forward an email address we can use to express how grateful we are to be in a facility that is so modern and inspiring? Thank you.
Julia Taylor Greg,
Sorry I didn't get a chance to visit. I had one of our middle school coaches with me and I was giving him the run down on what he would be seeing at your camp. He was kind enough to help car pool some of our kids over from Pendleton today. Thanks again for all you and your staffs help. It was clear to me that all of your receiving coaches were coaching up our young receivers just about every rep. I watched our young kids each get better as the day went on, a credit to the guys you have helping you. It's great for me to sit back as a high school coach and watch our kids get better during a period when we just can't be with all of them all the time. This will pay-off much come spring. But probably the best thing of all and all of long this has been my opinion of why we have to have our kids over there during winter workouts. That is, there is something that just can't be measured but I know it will make each of our kids better including Connor, being around other kids that want to be better and are willing to work at it very hard. Their level of work ethic I truley believe grows by leeps as a result of being around other driven kids. I watched some of our kids today that historically have not given the effort in Pendleton as they gave at the session. Some of it may be maturity going on but I know it's the other kids they are working with that pushing them. So again thanks to you and your staff, our kids are enjoying it and are feeling like they are investing in next season. As for Connor he was happy to get after again today. But he was so funny on the way back with the high school kids, he was explaining to them that when he was throwing today he jammed the finger of a high school kid. He went on to exlain that he thought it was a Frosh. or Soph. from Skyview and they were throwing a shallow crossing route off of a 5 step drop with a close, he claims he threw hard and surprised the and kid jammed his finger as the ball flew off of his hands. I think I did see the end of it and the kid did look surprised as he slapped Connor five and said "nice throw", again a testimony to the type of young athletes your program pulls in.
Last, Heather wanted to make sure I remind you that Connor is available for you at the Nike Clinic, so let us know and we will be there for you.
Thanks Again,
Walt

Dear Coach Barton,
Thank you for passing on that e mail. I just want to thank you too for all you have done to make Zach a better quarterback. He mentioned last night after his game (we won league!!) he needed to call you. As Zach might have told you Oregon State offered him a grey shirt. We think this is a good option for him. He still needs to call Coach Riley and committ. When you have time please let us know what you feel Zach needs to work on. He knows that now the work begins. I know you have worked with the other quarterbacks going to OSU how do you feel Zach will fit in?
Joni Anderson
NOTE: I responded to Mrs. Anderson's email and let her know that Zach Anderson is an excellent quarterback and a great young man. I told her that Mike Riley would be an excellent coach for Zach and that a "grey-shirt" situation would be perfect for Zach. Later Zach called me and I told him the same thing. Zach has really impressed me over the years and especially in our Indoor Winter Camp which he is currently involved in. Zach will do a great job at Oregon State. (Greg Barton 2-22-07)

I just wanted to thank you for your involvement in this past weekends OACA/Nike Football clinic. Your efforts to do well and represent your program are appreciated. We had nearly 1000 coaches representing Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Texas, California, Japan, Canada, Arizona, Utah and Alaska. We are told that we have become the largest football clinic on the west coast and the 2nd largest of the 19 Nike football clinics in the U.S.
One of the main reasons for our clinic success is because of coaches like you, who do a great job of imparting your passion for the game of football to others.
We appreciate your efforts and what you do to support our clinic and represent your school. Please feel free to offer any suggestions for future clinicians and topics. Thanks again!!!
I and others thought your presentation was one of the best. I hope this works out well for advertising your program and I know it works out well for our clinic. We would like to continue having you as part of our clinic each year

Greg It was a great day for work-outs…it was also great meeting you as well. Thank you for being what I pictured you would be as a person. I had spoken with Chris (Jackson) a few times in general. I had seen Taylor play at Beaverton High a few times…as well as read the great articles about him and his recruitment to Colorado and transferring to Washington. I kept the high school articles for my son to read when he turns 12. He turns 12 in about 4 months. Reason being, I want him to know with the right formula of attributes, as well as hard work and temperament…it is possible to go to the program of his choice if you are READY. Thanks for allowing my son to participate in the drills. Steve Kelly
Greg,
Thank you again for taking the time to come to our game on Friday--it meant a lot to Jordan (and me) that you were there. He's really looking forward to working with you and Taylor in the coming years. Thanks.
Marty Johnson Head Football Coach Sheldon High School
Greg, My sincere thanks for your incredible effort to come down to Eugene and watch Tommy (and Sheldon football). Susan and I are extremely grateful for all your insights and words of support. We very much look forward to working with you in the future. Warmest regards to Heather and Taylor, Tom

Greg, Thanks for being willing to come out to Aloha and talk to our players. April 7th is the date, and if you would speak at 7:20 and you could take as much time as you need. It would be great if you could talk about the mental aspect of playing the game much like you do with the quarterbacks. Just come to the lobby of the gym and will meet you there and take you to the classroom where we meet. Thanks again, and let me know if you have any questions. Sincerely, Ken Ingram

Greg, I am glad you found my Nike Coach of the Year presentation worthwhile. I have a great deal of respect for what you are doing with the young men you work with. Too many coaches think only about the physical aspects of their players development. It is obvious you establish a bond with the athlete and their parents. You become a true mentor and play an important part in their lives.
We are really excited about Buddy and we truly believe he could make an immediate impact in our program.
I tried to get your attention and say hello, but I couldn't move very quickly and you eluded me. I hope to see you in May at the Barton Marketing Workout at Willamette University.

Taylor & Greg, Last year our coaches really enjoyed the Next Step Football Combine. Your preparation and planning really showed. Last year's combine gave us a great start to this year's recruiting. I'd like to get some information about this year's combine and how our staff can register. Thanks. Phil Rombach Linfield Football
