Taylor Barton - Director of Camps
High School Career:
As a senior, he was the Gatorade Player-of-the-Year in Oregon, when he also earned Prep Star All-America honors as the fifth-rated quarterback in the west. Super Prep also tabbed him as an All-American, ranking him as the No. 14 quarterback nationally and the third-rated player overall in the Pacific Northwest….The National Recruiting Advisor selected him on its All-America team…USA Today selected him as a honorable mention All-American and designated him as Oregon’s player-of-the-year.

Prep Football Report tabbed him as a preseason All-America…A member of the prestigious Tacoma News-Tribune’s Western 100 list…He also earned first-team all state and all-Metro League honors and was the Oregonian offensive player of the year…The National Recruiting Advisor ranked him as the No. 3 quarterback in the west and Athlon mentioned him as a Top Blue Chip for the Western Region…He was a second-team all-league and honorable mention all-state performer as a junior.

As a senior, he completed 233-369 passes for 4,047 yards, a 63 percent completion rate, and threw an incredible 56 touchdown passes and only 10 interceptions…The 56 TD passes was one shy of the national record…He rushed for close to 400 yards and two touchdowns, and even caught one pass for an eight-yard score…In Beaverton’s four game playoff run, he passed for over 1,600 yards and 21 touchdowns….in the state championship game, a 51-48 loss to McNary, he had 592 yards of total offense, including a 26-of-41 effort passing for 450 yards and six touchdowns (the seventh TD by Beaverton was his TD reception)….As a junior, he completed 136-of-223 passes (61 percent) for 2,413 yards and 26 touchdowns, with only six interceptions.

He did not start as a sophomore, but did throw for 617 yards and seven scores…Career Numbers, 413-of-648, 63.7 percent, 7,077 yards, 89 touchdowns and 17 interceptions…Beaverton was 13 – 1 his senior year (losing in the state finals), 10 – 2 his junior year (reaching the state quarterfinals) and 5 – 5 his sophomore season under coach Faustin Riley (BHS was a triple option team his sophomore year, but they switched gears to a multiple offense prior to his junior year and he proceeded to lead the team to a 23 – 3 mark over two seasons)

He was a member of four Metro League champion teams (two in football and two in basketball)….Also lettered three times in basketball (starting point guard sophomore through senior years)…he was an all-league pick and an honorable mention all-state selection…the Beavers won the Oregon State Champion in his senior year…played for the legendary Nick Robertson…highly recruited…selected the University of Colorado over Oregon State, Washington, Arizona State, Oregon and Arizona.

College Career: Redshirted in 1998 at the University of Colorado….appeared in two games for the Buffaloes as a redshirt freshman, completing three passess….transferred to San Francisco City College where he helped the Rams become the 2000 Junior College National Football Champions…rated by SuperPrep as the nation’s top-ranked junior college player…named Offensive MVP of the 2000 JC Grid-Wire National Championship game, completing 22-of-37 passes for 281 yards and three TDs in CCSF’s 31-13 win over Bakersfield…started six games (alternated with another quarterback, each playing every other game), completing 62.5 per cent of his passes for 2,059 yards and 24 touchdowns, an average of 343 yards and four TDs per game…held a passer rating of 208.6…merited four of a possible five stars from Rivals. com….named first team All-Golden Gate Conference quarterback and co-offensive player-of-the-year…….honorable mention All-America.

Selected the University of Washington over the University of Arkansas and Oregon State University….in 2001, junior season, he completed 44 of 86 for 647 yards and 5 touchdowns….vs. USC, he was Huskies MVP, completing 11 of 20 for 197 yards and two touchdowns….against UCLA, he completed 22 of 44 passes for 316 yards and a touchdown…earning the ABC Player of the Game for the Huskies.
College Coaching Career: Taylor coached with Mike Riley at Oregon State University.

Greg Barton - Portland Head Coach
High School Career: Played at Millikan High School, in Long Beach, California, where he is arguably the greatest quarterback in the school’s history.
College Career: Attended Long Beach City College in 1964 and 1965….as a freshman in 1964, he led the Vikings to a perfect 11 and 0 season winning the Junior Rose Bowl over Cameron, Oklahoma, in Pasadena, California….the team was the 1964 National Junior College Champions…..named first team all-league and Honorable Mention All-America…in his sophomore season, he quarterbacked the Vikings to a 9 and 2 record, again being named First Team All-League and Honorable Mention All-America….his last game in Junior College was a loss to San Francisco City College, which was led by running back, O.J. Simpson.

Offered football scholarships to UCLA, USC, California, Arizona State, Arizona and Notre Dame…..selected the University of Tulsa, in Oklahoma, where as a junior he led the Golden Hurricane to a 9 and 2 record…he ended the season as the 7th ranked passer in the NCAA…..as a senior the University of Tulsa quarterback separated his throwing shoulder in the 4th game of the season after leading the NCAA in passing and total offense after the first 3 games.

Professional Career: Drafted by the Detroit Lions, of the National Football League…played for the Lions in 1968, 1969 and 1970…traded to the Philadelphia Eagles following the 1970 season…signed with the Toronto Argonauts, of the Canadian Football League ….played with Toronto in 1971, 1972 and 1973…finished his playing career in Portland, Oregon, playing for the Dick Coury and the Portland Storm, of the old World Football League.

Coaching Career: Coached football at Michigan State University in 1968, 1969 and 1970, during his off-season, when he played for the Detroit Lions. He was the Canadian Player Personnel Director and Player Coach, Quarterback Coach and Offensive Coordinator for the Toronto Argonauts, of the Canadian Football League in 1971, 1972 and 1973. In 1975 he was named the Head Coach of the Portland Thunder of the World Football League. Greg coached high school (football, basketball and baseball) in California, Oklahoma, Michigan, Toronto, Canada and Oregon….in Oregon, coached at Franklin, Jesuit and Beaverton High Schools….coached youth sports (football and baseball) in California; (basketball and baseball) in Oklahoma; (football, basketball and baseball) in Michigan; (football, hockey, basketball and baseball) in Toronto, Canada; and (football, soccer, basketball and baseball) in Oregon….has coached youth sports for over 45 years….has organized and coached in camps and clinics for over 40 years.

Personal: Graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University. Greg was the Assistant to the President at Jesuit High School for five years...at Jesuit he coached football, basketball, and baseball....created the Junior Sports Department and was the Junior Sports Manager at the Multnomah Athletic Club for 18 years….Founded Air Attack Football and the Barton Football Academy……Co-founded Next Step College Sports…..a partner in Bonzi Development…..in 2008 was inducted into the Long Beach City College Football Hall-of-Fame.

Mike Bush - Head Skills Coach
High School Career:
Started career at Rubidoux High (Riverside, Calif.), playing two seasons for basketball coach Dale Johnson in 1993-94 and 1994-95 then attended Mercersburg Academy (Mercersburg, Pa.) where he lettered two years for football coach Andy Schroer and basketball coach Tony Tucker also a sprinter for the track team as a JUNIOR (1995-96) in football, caught 31 passes for 603 yards and four touchdowns while earning All-Mid-Atlantic Conference and all-area first team honors during

his senior year (1996-97) caught 53 passes for 706 yards and 14 touchdowns and again was named to the all-league and all-area first teams averaged 20 points, 12 rebounds and three steals as team MVP for 17-5 squad finished his education at Kent-Meridian High (1997-98) in Washington.

Washington State University career:
BASKETBALL CAREER NOTES - Ended career with 1,052 points, 20th on the WSU all-time list...recorded 148 career steals, fourth all-time at WSU...also racked up 456 rebounds and started 77 of 84 games...played in all 29 games as a freshman and was named the teams top defensive player...racked up four double-doubles as a sophomore, averaging over 13 points and six boards per game...averaged 15.9 points per game during junior campaign, leading team and earning honorable mention All-Pac-10 honors...competed in final regular season football game Nov. 17, scoring a touchdown against Washington, and began his senior basketball campaign three days later with 12 points against Colorado State.
RS-JUNIOR (2001-02): V-letter Games - 12 Starts - 11 participated in spring drills, his first football action since high school earned a spot in the two-deep earned the following weekly team awards: California/Offensive Back; Arizona/Cougar Claw; Stanford/Pac-10 Offense; UCLA/Offensive Back. Moved into a starting role during fall camp Caught at least one pass in all 12 games and had two or more receptions in all but the Sun Bowl Caught a season-high seven passes at Arizona for 110 yards and six for 69 yards and two scores against Montana State also two TD receptions against Stanford had five catches for 144 yards against California and five for 43 yards and a score at Washington. caught a 46-yard touchdown pass from Jason Gesser in the Sun Bowl victory over Purdue. Caught at least one TD pass in six straight mid-season games. Finished the season with 46 catches for 959 yards and 10 touchdowns, just one shy of Kevin McKenzies school record 11 in 1997.
RS-SENIOR (2002-03): Tabbed as the No. 16 wide receiver nationally during the preseason by The Sporting News.

Michael Dwayne Bush born May 20, 1979, in Riverside, Calif. parents John and Darlene, lived with his older brother John II while attending Kent-Meridian, worked with elementary school children while living in Kent, one of the top 100 high school players invited to ABCD Adidas camp in New Jersey...education major.

Brad Vanneman - Head Line Coach
Coach Vanneman is an Issaquah High School grad of 2001 - mascot back then was an Indian. He was starting power forward for the basketball team, played Offensive/Defensive Line for the football team. He then went on to play football at the University of Washington {2001-2006} and was a 3 year starter at Guard and Center and majored in History. He has coached at Issaquah forfour years. The first year he was the Defensive Line coach and the last three spent with the Offensive Line. Coach Vanneman played in a Football All-Star game in Osaka Japan in 2006. His brother Brian Brady former IHS receiver and shooting guard is currently a receiver at Whitworth College in Spokane. His sister Blaire Brady, currently is a student at IHS and starting point guard for the girls basketball team.

2005: Started at center in all 11 games...paved the way for 335 yard rushing performance in a 38-14 win at Arizona...named a captain for the 2005 season...earned Gertrude Peoples Post Graduate Scholarship...played in New Era Bowl in Osaka Japan in June of 2006
2004: Started at center in all 11 games ... only player on the Husky offense to start every game during the season .. helped the Huskies to finish second in the Pac-10 with just 23 sacks allowed ... named the KJR-Radio Offensive Player of the Year ... voted the team's John P. Angel Offensive Lineman of the Year award. 2003: Played in seven games ... started against California and Washington State and Oregon ... missed the last week of spring drills due to an ankle sprain. 2002:Did not see any game action. 2001: Redshirted the 2001 season.

Orrin Coates - Oregon Head Skills Coach
Orrin is a graduate of Stayton High School, where he started three years as a dual-threat quarterback and defensive back.
High School Career
During his career, Orrin put his stamp in the record books. Orrin ranks 4th all-time for career rushing yards, and is 1st all-time rushing yards for a quarterback. His best effort came against Gladstone, where he rushed for 193 yards on 18 attempts averaging 10.7 yards per carry. He is the school record holder ranking 1st for all-time passing yards at Stayton. He also holds the school record for most wins as a starter, winning 16 games from 2003-2006. On the opposite side of the ball, he played both safety and corner. During his years at Stayton, he had 14 interceptions with 5 returned for touchdowns. His head coach was Greg Nolan, who is still at Stayton High School.

College Career
Orrin continued his career at Idaho State University, where he played safety. As a redshirt, he was selected as defensive scout team player of the week 6 times. After his first year at ISU, Orrin transferred to College of the Redwoods because of a coaching change at ISU. While at CR, Orrin was faced with an injury that would end his career. His head coach at Idaho State was Larry Lewis and mentored by then safeties coach, Joe Lorig. While at College of the Redwoods, he was coached by Dave Banducci.

Personal
Orrin David Coates was born September 1st, 1987. His parents are Tom and Kim Coates, who still live in Stayton. Orrin has 4 siblings, Brandon (36), Gabe (30), Kendra (29), and Dlanie (16). He has a passion for working with young student-athletes, where he coached for Stayton High School and taught at Stayton Middle School. Orrin is mentored by two of the top coaches in the country in Taylor Barton, and Mike Bush.
