We are excited to kick off the 2010 training season with our newly revamped Rookie Camps!

Our philosophy is simple -

make it fun, make it meaningful and make it count!

Every young athlete who attends our camp will:

  • Have Fun!
  • Learn the proper way to Run, Catch and Throw!
  • Get tons of reps at everything!
  • Grow as a person as well as an athlete!

We know as coaches that 'old habits are hard to break'. We believe that developing the right habits in our athletes at a young age will help them be that much more successful in whatever sport, and path in life, they choose to pursue.

Our goal for every athlete is to help them leave our camp better than when they arrived.  Better as a football player, better as an athlete and better as a person.  The same things that make them successful on the field will help make them successful off of it...no matter how old they are.

At Barton Football Academy it's about much more than football...it's about you.

Typical Rookie Camp activites

  • Dynamic Warmup that includes stretching, footwork, speed drills and quickness drills
  • Position Specific Training (PST)- our young athletes are encouraged to train at many different positions, though the choice is theirs.  Spend the entire time training as a QB or rotate amongst the positions to ensure a well rounded camp off-season.
    • PST is available for:
      • Quarterbacks,  Wide Receivers/Tight Ends, Running Backs, Defensive Backs and Linebackers
  • Group Drills/Games - our QB's will throw to our position players to help expose them to age appropriate situations.  It's much different catching a ball from an athlete your own age than from a coach.  Same thing for the QB's.  We'll also mix in some fun football games that will put to use the skills the kids worked on earlier in the day.

We also realize that there is a difference between an athlete in Kindergarden and one in 4th grade.  We work during every camp session to make sure athletes are placed with kids of their appropriate skill level.

We look forward to seeing everyone this year at the Barton Football Academy!
