We are excited to kick off the 2010 training season with our newly revamped Varsity Camps!
Our training philosophy for our Varsity athletes is simple, work hard, make every rep count and have fun!
Every varsity athlete who attends our camp will:
- · Learn the proper techniques for their position
- · Perfect their technique through repetition
- · Grow as a person as well as an athlete!
As our more experienced athletes, the Varsity camps are designed around the belief that perfection is earned, not given. Only through proper coaching and tons and tons of reps can an athlete truly become the best they can be...on and off the field.
At Barton Football Academy it's about much more than football...it's about you.
Typical Varsity Camp activities
- · Dynamic Warm-up that includes stretching, footwork, speed drills and quickness drills
- · Position Specific Training
- o PST is available for:
- § Quarterbacks, Wide Receivers/Tight Ends, Running Backs (new!), Defensive Backs and Linebackers (new!)
- § New for this year are Running Back and Linebacker specific training
- § Running Backs
- § Linebackers will work on reading offensives, filling-the-gap, pass coverage and proper tackling techniques (non-contact)
- · Group Drills/Games
We also realize that there is a difference between an athlete in 5th grade and one on the high school varsity team. We work during every camp session to make sure athletes are placed with kids of their appropriate skill level.
Small Group Workout Session (Varsity level camp only - grades 5th - above)
- · 30 athlete limit
- · Very Intense and active workout with a focus on QB and Receiving drills as well as footwork and technique
